AoT C’ville #13 – via Zoom! Tuesday, June 22

Astronomy on Tap – Charlottesville is back! Our next virtual AoT-Cville event will take place Monday, February 8th from 7-9 pm Eastern Time via Zoom webinar. AoT C’ville #8 @ Three Notch’d Brewing – Feb 17th, 2020

Our 8th Astronomy on Tap – C’ville event will take place at Three Notch’d Brewing Company on Monday, February 17th from 7-9pm. This event is free to attend and open to all ages! We’ll have astronomy talks, trivia, and prizes all night.

Make sure to get there early to put in your food orders and to drink in the universe with local UVA astronomers. We’ll be located in the back room of Three Notch’d.

Our top prize for the night will be the book ‘Women in Science: 50 Fearless Pioneers Who Changed the World’!!

Astronomy on Tap – C’ville returns to Three Notch’d Brewing Company on Monday, December 2nd from 7-9pm for astronomy talks, trivia, and prizes. This event is free to attend and open to all ages!

Make sure to get there early to put in your food orders and to drink in the universe with local UVA astronomers. We’ll be located in the back room of Three Notch’d.

We’ll have talks targeted at a general audience by UVA astronomers Dr. Shane Davis, Molly Finn, and Eric Willis with topics ranging from black holes to finding the origins of life in comets. It should be a fun night for everyone!

AoT C’ville #6 @ Champion Brewing – Oct 7th, 2019

Come join us for our next Astronomy on Tap event at Champion Brewing Company on October 7th at 6:30pm. We will have astronomy talks by professional astronomers as well as astronomy themed trivia and prizes throughout the night!

Our theme for the night is the search for life beyond our Solar System. This event is free and open to all ages!

Since the event takes place in October, wear your favorite Astronomy themed costume to get an extra prize! If we have enough people in costume we may even do a costume contest 🙂

After the AoT talks end, Champion will be showing an astronomy themed movie starting at 8:30pm.

Come learn about the Universe with Astronomy on Tap!

Astronomy on Tap events are hosted around the world. You will interact with professional and amateur astronomers as they share their knowledge of the cosmos in an informal venue. Each event consists of two or three short talks on an astronomy-related topic. Between talks, you can test your knowledge with trivia and games to win astronomy-themed prizes! We hope you will join us at this free and family-friendly event!

The next Astronomy on Tap event in Charlottesville will begin at 6:30 PM on Monday, June 3rd at Champion Brewing. Arrive early to get a good seat (and put in your drink order)! The event will end around 8:30 PM, but you are welcome to come and go at your leisure.

Following Astronomy on Tap, Champion will host their movie night with the space-western “Serenity” at 8:30 PM.
